Hi, I'm Greta, your online gardening teacher!
I fell in love with the home garden as a young girl.
Harvesting sweet and succulent strawberries from my parent’s garden is one of my fondest childhood memories.
But I was only truly happy when my dream of building my very own garden came true (age 7).
Those memories have continued to fuel my love for gardening.
In the years following I went on to work in greenhouses, on multiple organic vegetable farms, and eventually built my very own farm business.
Our first farm iteration was full of livestock but it quickly morphed into a flower farm.
All through these years I lovingly tended a backyard veggie garden.
I now run a high-production urban farm on a small vacant lot in Anchorage, Alaska.
My flowers find their way into people’s homes and businesses and wedding ceremonies.
I’m still tending a backyard veggie garden, with my husband and two young kids, that keeps getting bigger and bigger.
My gardens have spanned across Alaska, Washington, and Wisconsin so I am well versed in northern climates specifically.
But the information you will get from this course will apply to multiple growing zones.
